Linear incremental encoders are designed for precise measurements over a wide range of lengths up to 50 mm up to 29500 mm. The encoders transform the information about the change of the linear position into electrical impulses. The number of pulses corresponds to the frequency of the change of position and the frequency of pulses corresponds to the speed of motion.
Linear encoders consist of two parts that jointly perform linear motion. The first element is an aluminum profile with a glass divider or a monolithic metal strap. The other is a sensitive head equipped with a LED source, electronics and a cable.
