The MD400E device has been discontinued. In the first quarter of 2016, it will be replaced by the new MGT434E module. Below view drawings of the new device:
MD400E is a universal module designed for measurement of displacement and speed, which can be combined with pulse transducers with quadrature output, encoders, magnetic circuits, etc. This device is equipped with four LED displays for road or speed presentation and one display graphic, which together with the numeric keypad provides the operator interface.
The MD400 meter also has four OC type transistor outputs (Open Collector) with a configurable threshold of action, depending on the position or the speed of one of the encoders. For communication, the MD400 module has been equipped with two popular communication interfaces â USB and RS485 Modbus-RTU. The first of the mentioned modules enables intuitive configuration of the device and acquisition of measurements from a PC.
A free MD400E-PC application dedicated for the device allows real-time recording of measured values â??â??and saving measurements to a file. In the program, you can configure encoder inputs, transistor outputs and register triggers as well as trigger inputs.
Using the RS485 bus, it is possible to simultaneously connect many (up to 32) measuring modules, thus collecting data from a larger number of sensors than in the case of a single measurement module. The Modbus-RTU interface allows communication among others with PLC and HMI panels. The MD400 measuring module should be supplied with DC voltage, stabilized in the 10..36 VDC range.
The sample connects external elements to the MD400E counter. Each of the displays can be configured to independently display the position / speed from a given transducer.
