Micro-Epsilon offers a measurement system that uses a laser with integrated high-resolution CCD camera called optoCONTROL for measuring geometrical quantities. The high frequency of measurement, accuracy, excellent resolution combined with a very competitive price define a new level of quality in non-contact measurements and inspection of moving parts in the production line.
The optoCONTROL system measures the dimension of the object being examined (diameter, width, aperture, segment) or the position of the edge of the object by examining the shadow cast by the object. A continuous measurement with no interruptions and with a wide dynamic range is possible thanks to the continuous laser curtain.
The optoCONTROL system includes a sensor assembly and a microcontroller. The sensor assembly consists of a laser light source and a CCD camera. A parallel curtain of laser light is produced by a laser light source. The CCD camera in the receiver section measures with high accuracy the outlines of the checked object formed by the cast shadow. The sensor assembly is controlled and developed by an intelligent controller with a graphical display for the operation and indications of the measurement results.
