optoNCDT 5500 Laser triangulation displacement sensor

optoNCDT 5500 - highly dynamic laser sensor up to 75 kHz

OptoNCDT 5500 laser sensors set new standards in precise laser distance measurements. With submicron precision and an impressive measurement frequency of up to 75 kHz, these sensors are ideal for dynamic displacement, distance, vibration and position measurements.

Thanks to the integrated controller, the compact sensor does not require any external control units and can be easily integrated even in limited installation spaces. Maximum performance in the smallest space - optoNCDT 5500 series.

Characteristics

  •     Measuring ranges (mm): 10 | 25 | 100 | 200
  •     Linearity from 1.5 µm
  •     Repeatability from 0.4 µm
  •     Adjustable measurement frequency up to 75 kHz
  •     Compact sensor design with built-in controller
  •     Outputs: Ethernet, RS422, analog output, switching outputs
  •     Quick adaptation to changing surfaces

Versatile use

OptoNCDT 5500 sensors are available with various measurement ranges. In addition to the standard measuring range, an extended measuring range can be used, which significantly expands the scope of use. Thanks to the IP67 protection class and high resistance to ambient light, the laser sensor can also be used in difficult environmental conditions.

Top performance: A new class of laser triangulation sensors

Micro-Epsilon's optoNCDT 5500 sensor represents the latest performance class in laser triangulation sensors. Thanks to the increased measurement frequency of up to 75 kHz, this sensor is ideal for highly dynamic measurement tasks.

This laser sensor provides extremely precise measurement results, even on rapidly changing and poorly reflective surfaces. Its high repeatability enables measurements with submicron precision.

Advanced surface compensation - intelligent exposure control for all surfaces

OptoNCDT 5500 is equipped with intelligent surface control. New algorithms enable quick exposure control and thus stable measurement results on surfaces with variable reflections.

In addition, the sensor is extremely resistant to ambient light and can also be used in brightly lit environments. New algorithms compensate for ambient light intensity up to 50,000 lux.

Simple installation and first start-up

No centering of the sensor is necessary thanks to the patented, repeatable assembly using mounting sleeves. This enables both easy replacement of the sensor and even greater precision in solving measurement tasks. Thanks to its small dimensions and integrated controller, the laser sensor can also be installed in confined spaces.

A web interface with ready-made settings makes the sensor immediately ready for use. The ILD5500 is more compact than its predecessor ILD2300. To enable smooth replacement, Micro-Epsilon offers an adapter plate for quick switching from ILD2300 to ILD5500.
