The 3D profile module enables the calculation of several individual scanCONTROL 30xx sensor profiles in a common coordinate system. In this way, a complex 2D profile or a complex 3D point cloud can be generated. This makes it possible to detect various geometries, extend measurement ranges and perform thickness measurements. The precise assignment of the sensor position to the position of the measuring object can be carried out using the integrated encoder inputs.
Data evaluation and system parameterization can be implemented in the 3DInspect software. The 3D Profile Unit Controller has an integrated evaluation function combined with an industrial Ethernet connection, allowing application control and measured values to be transmitted to the PLC. Alternatively, the 3D Profile Unit controller can also be integrated with popular imaging programs via GigE Vision and acts as a raw data provider.
