Nabtesco gearboxes are a specific, very advanced and effective solution for transferring traffic from the drive unit to the target object. They belong to the group cycloidal gears.
The presented reducers allow to obtain a very high torque on the output axis, exceeding even 60,000 Nm, and the availability of large gearboxes enables the optimal use of the drive unit. Cycloidal gearboxes are characterized by a compact design, high stiffness and very low hysteresis loss (<1 arcmin).
Compact design is a big advantage, especially for applications that require large translocations. Typical planetary gears with a relatively large reduction require application, and 3 degrees of trans position, which contributes to a significant increase in dimensions and weight of the reducer.
The cycloidal gearbox always has only two degrees of shifting, therefore its dimensions and weight are much smaller than the corresponding planetary gears. The small backlash also allows for very precise movement. Despite the presence of very high forces on the output axis, Nabtesco reducers can work with amazing dynamics and precision.
Typical applications of the described transmission units are manipulation robots, robot positioners, CNC machining centers, revolver tool feeders and rotary tables. However, the list of potential applications for these gears is very long.
