Micrometer laser produced by Micro-Epsilon is designed to measure edges, diameters and crevices up to 2000 mm. High precision lenses used in the transmitter ensure the emission of a single laser beam to the receiver. The result of the measurement is the shadow created by the interruption of the laser beam through the edge, the diameter, or the gap that falls on the CCD matrix. The 28mm measuring range and the new, sub-pixel method allow for a resolution of two micrometres.
A typical range of operating temperatures in factories allows for stable measurement repeatability of ą 2 micrometres. The software allows you to configure values such as left / right edge, center, slot width, as well as any data from analogue and digital interfaces. In the sensor, it is possible to store measurement data and to analyze data from many days. It is worth emphasizing that these micrometers have a teaching function, thanks to which the sensor can learn new values of edges by itself.
The sensor, together with a large measuring range up to 2 m, allows you to measure even warm objects during the production process, without affecting the electronics of the sensor. In addition, there is also a special housing that provides a more robust mounting.
