TMC 401 is a converter of step and direction signals on SPI datagrams that can be used directly by drivers of stepper motors, for example TMC23x or TMC24x series. There are 5 microcircuit breaks from 1/2 to 1/32 and two types of full-time operation (at maximum or at given current). The Stallguard signal bits are transmitted to the drivers via three pins to facilitate the use of this option. On one of the pins a temperature warning signal is output which can be used for emergency switching off the driver. The TMC 401 has an automatic voltage reduction of 75% when no step signal is present for a minimum of one second and mixed quenching. Both of these functions can be enabled or disabled using appropriate signals for dedicated pins. The device also has a built-in 8 MHz clock.
Electrical parameters:
- 5V DC power supply,
- signals on all inputs and outputs
- compatible with the TTL standard.
