Polish Toyota factories have doubled the production of electric hybrid drives

Polskie fabryki Toyoty podwoiły produkcję elektrycznych napędów hybrydowych

September 20 this year. Toyota factory in Wałbrzych launched the second production line of small, electric transmissions for hybrid drives of the Yaris and Yaris Cross models. MOBOT® mobile robots from WObit are used in internal transport.

In addition to the transmission, the drive system uses the latest generation 1.5-liter engine, which is manufactured in the second factory in Jelcz-Laskowice. Its production starts in June 2020.

In the press release, the company announced the launch of another line of TNGA 1.5-liter hybrid engines at the end of the year in Wałbrzych. This will double the production of electric hybrid drives for Toyota Yaris and Yaris Cross. New investments are related to, inter alia, the growing popularity of hybrid cars, including the new generation Toyota Yaris, which won the European Car of the Year 2021 title.

Production lines equipped with modern technologies

Internal transport of production processes is supported by MOBOT® mobile robots, including the MOBOT® AGV FlatRunner MW shown in the title photo. The aforementioned robot has a lifting capacity of up to 1800 kg and is equipped with a Mecanum wheel drive, enabling the machine to move in any direction and change it on the spot. MOBOT® robots are easily adaptable to transport a variety of loads by retrofitting with appropriate upper modules with automatic feeders, a load lifting system, or trolleys for transporting pallets and other details.
