As many as eight good practices by WObithave been distinguished in the report "Responsible business in Poland. Good Practices. This is the 21st edition of the prestigious Responsible Business Forum report, which presents the activity of Polish companies in the field of pro-social activities.
The premiere of the FOB report took place on April 17 at the Central House of Technology in Warsaw. The event was accompanied by discussion panel about the challenges and tensions related to the implementation of environmental and social goals by business.
This year's edition featured a record number of 1,705 good practices submitted by 272 companies. Most of them - as many as 477 - concerned social involvement and development of the local community. The second largest area was the area of work placements (419 activities). In third place was the environmental area with 360 practices. The largest, almost threefold increase was recorded in the area of human rights, to which 282 practices were qualified.
The WObit company has once again shown that social responsibility has many names, which was reflected in the diversity of our activities. WObit's good practices included in the report are:
- Collection of food for refugees from Ukraine– the company, in consultation with the Municipality of Pniewy, organized an internal food collection intended for the needs of a group of refugees who arrived as a result of Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
- Celebration of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work - workshops with a physiotherapist were organized for employees, during which it was presented how to take care of physical health and prevent posture defects with simple exercises.
- Sports team games - continuing the company's tradition of pre-pandemic volleyball games, in the summer-autumn season almost every week WObit employees spent the last hour at work playing volleyball. People who couldn't get involved took up other sporting activities, such as playing badminton.
- White Stork Day - the company sent employees information about the role this bird species plays in culture and landscape, and pointed out that the stork chooses places close to people, as well as meadows and fields for its habitats - i.e. the area where WObit is headquartered. She also informed what threats this species is exposed to and how it can be helped.
- Collection for the animal shelter in Przyborówek - as every year, the employees collected food and beds that supported the animals living there during the winter.
- Gaszyn Challenge - as part of the challenge, WObit employees played a charity volleyball match and organized a lottery with prizes. The money from the match and the lottery tickets were donated to the treatment of a 16-year-old girl from a neighboring town suffering from cancer. We wrote about it HERE.
- PWR Racing Team - as every year, WObit supported the activities of students of the Wrocław University of Technology. Thanks to this, students from PWR Racing Team had the opportunity to create their first electric car. The company supports students in developing passion, innovation and expanding knowledge.
- Entrepreneurship Day for high school in Pniewo - science students had the opportunity to get to know the modern production environment, innovative solutions for Industry 4.0. Through practical workshops, they gained knowledge in the field of labor law and quality management. We wrote about it HERE.
The report “Responsible business in Poland. Good practices” is the most important cyclical publication of the Responsible Business Forum, published since 2002. The report is an overview of the activities of companies that reported their CSR activities, and summarizes the most important issues related to responsible business in a given year in Poland. The introductory part contains articles and comments by experts. A permanent element of the publication is also a review of selected press articles and a calendar of events related to CSR.
