Powerful drives in industry

Choosing the right drive means deciding which factors are the most important for us - technical parameters, controllability, communication interfaces, and maybe the price?

The choice of the right drive is to decide which factors are the most important for us - whether the appropriate technical parameters, controllability, communication interfaces, and perhaps the price? The servo system is becoming a more and more often compromise solution that satisfies most of these requirements.

Serwodrives

Among the many brands available on the market, please pay attention to serwdrives Kinco , used in a variety of applications in the industry. Said drives are brushless synchronous motors of alternating current with permanent magnets mounted on the rotor. These drives are characterized by high efficiency, which remains in a large load range, and can also achieve a large angular acceleration of the rotor.

They are also characterized by good dynamic and regulating properties, because for permanent magnet motors, a quick response to control system commands resulting from the relatively small moment of inertia is right. The WObit company, which is its representative in Poland, implements these engines, among others in module modules in its own production.

WObit proposes seven series of servo motors with a flange size from 40 to 180 mm. The nominal torque range is from 0.64 Nm up to 28 Nm.

All servo motors have a built-in incremental encoder with a resolution of 2,500 imp./obr. The available motor output, depending on the series, is from 200 W to 4.4 kW.

What is important especially in vertical axes, Kinco servo motors may to be equipped with an electromagnetic brake.

Control

In addition to the engine, the inherently and very important part of the servo drive is servo driver , which allows you to get the desired result such as the right position, number of turns or speed. Kinco offers three series of drivers with wide possibilities and an attractive price.

The basic CD series allows you to control three-phase servo motors powered by alternating current. The controllers communicate via the RS232 interface and can work in several modes: step / direction (analogous to stepper motors), speed control, torque, position, travel to the desired home position. The servo start-up and deceleration times of this series are at 10 ms. This allows you to set a very steep work ramp.

Seria FD

The most popular FD series is additionally equipped with RS485 (Modbus RTU) and CANopen thanks to which they can cooperate with a PLC or operator panel.

It perfectly meets the expectations of less advanced applications, for which the offered functions are sufficient, while maintaining a very attractive price.

For more demanding applications, Kinco has prepared a JD series , which works well in multi-axis applications, for example enables synchronization of multiple axes , and also full control in a closed zone. The JD series controllers can communicate via RS232, RS485 and CANopen interfaces. They are also equipped with the STO (Safe Torque Off) function, which provides greater operational safety by entering the state of the engine torque block (safe torque off) to stop the drive.

These devices are resistant to external disturbances and have isolation of communication interfaces. For all Kinco series of servo controllers, there is a PC program that includes an oscilloscope function that allows you to control parameters such as speed, position and current and present them on a PC.

Applications

Servo drives are used in many processes in which significant is to ensure proper positions taken by mechanisms such as rotary table control, transfer and product handling applications, or maintaining constant tension of unwound or coiled material. By applying servo drives it is possible to precisely control the work of the axis, by controlling the position, speed and torque.

BLDC motors

The current trend of optimization and reduction of machine sizes , while increasing their efficiency, makes aspects such as dimensions and power supply a decisive factor when choosing drives. In applications requiring constant current supply - for example in mobile robots or medical applications (eg mobile operating tables), WObit proposes brushless DC motors German companies Dunkermotoren ( BG series ) and Buehler Motor ( series 1.25.xxx.xxx) . They are made for operating voltages from 24 to 325 V, rotational speeds from 500 to 10000 rpm, reaching the rated torque from 2 to 290 Ncm. The range of available powers is 5 to 1100 W.

BG series

Electronically commutated BG series motors can have integrated controllers with different functions. One of the simplest versions of the driver is the 4-quadrant speed controller (SI). In this embodiment, it is additionally possible to set the target speed using a 0 ~ 10 V analog voltage input.

Two digital inputs are available for four operating modes: left / right rotation, controller lock and stop with holding torque.

A more advanced version is a motor with an integrated 4-quadrant servo controller (PI), which is supplied with PC software that enables drive assistants. Thanks to this, it is easy to parameterize basic operating modes such as speed, moment and position.

BG75x75 PI

Models BG45 to BG75 are additionally equipped with the interface CANopen , which allows you to change the most important parameters of the trajectory as position, speed and real-time acceleration values. In the event that a different communication interface is required in the application, Dunkermotoren proposes motors equipped with Profibus, ProfiNet and EtherCat.

For design quantities, there is also a drive with an integrated motion controller with the Master function. It allows you to build a stationary network without a PLC type master controller. The motor is equipped with two connectors for connecting the network interface, power level and logic, including user-defined digital I / O. Communication between several controllers is possible via I / O and the CANopen interface.
