small patients who require specialist cardiac surgery due to the deep heart failure are getting more and more younger. This presents new challenges related to saving their health and life.
Young people are unwell due to congenital or acquired defects, for example, as a result of such unfortunate reasons as untreatable sacs and flu. Sometimes the only remedy is a heart transplant, but before that happens - the heart is cut off by mechanical devices that pumping blood. Currently, small patients are implanted with German heart prostheses in clinics.
Foundation for the Development of Cardiac Surgery prof. Zbigniew Religa is working on the creation of the first Polish prosthesis for children, which will be an alternative to German solutions. That's how financial support is necessary! Ă? Ă? Ă?
