The new 30 mm measuring range complements the surfaceCONTROL 3D 3xx0 systems for controlling the geometry, shape and surface of matte objects.
This sensor is suitable for smaller objects with a maximum size of 31 mm x 19.5 mm. The working distance between the sensor and the object is 130 mm. In addition to the high resolution of 0.7 µm in the z direction, this variant also offers precise horizontal measurement with an accuracy of 16 µm. For measurements in harsh production environments or for use on robots, the sensor is housed in a rugged aluminum housing and is IP67 certified.
surfaceCONTROL sensors are used, among others, in the production of electronics. Circuit boards are typically quality inspected to ensure that the quality of conductive traces, solder joints, or surface coatings are within specifications. Faults such as short circuits, breaks or faulty solder joints can be easily detected. SC35x0-30 is especially used for checking very small structures on assembled electronic modules. For example, it can be used to check whether the smallest SMD assembly components have been correctly placed on a printed circuit board. In addition to measuring height in the z direction, horizontal measurement accuracy is also crucial.
Two new 30mm and 240mm models expand the capabilities of Micro-Epsilon 3D surface measurement technology from very small to large objects. The sensors provide very high data quality. surfaceCONTROL sensors can be used to implement inline quality control solutions that use 3DInspect software or proprietary software solutions, depending on your needs.
