The new Neco® series from Nabtesco is a fully enclosed gearbox featuring a modern design that is suitable for use in cleanrooms. They have comprehensive corrosion protection, are modular and are easy to connect to the motor.
"When developing the Neco® gears, we looked at the most important requirements of our customers and focused on perfection, we created a very economical solution, without having to compromise on technical specifications," explains Daniel Obladen, General Sales Manager at Nabtesco Precision Europe GmbH.
The modular gear concept
Neco® gears achieve high precision with a backlash of only 0.5 minutes of arc. They have a very solid construction with two-bearing eccentric shafts and a bearing-mounted input shaft. They are also characterized by high overload resistance and torsional stiffness. In addition, their lightweight design allows them to create applications with less inertia, improved load conditions and reduced energy consumption. The motor shaft is fitted with a radial clamping ring. The ring reduces the inertia of the motor shaft by up to 39%, enabling extremely dynamic cycles.
These features offer the user many benefits, including shorter cycle times as well as higher productivity and efficiency. It is worth paying attention to the simplified assembly of the motor, which does not require the alignment of the drive pinion. The flexible system with modular bushings and flanges guarantees easy adaptation for use with all standard servo drives.
Comprehensive protection against corrosion
Neco® cycloidal gears feature advanced corrosion protection. They are coated with SSA (Nabtesco's special corrosion protection method) and oxidized to ensure optimal protection. The result is comprehensive corrosion protection covering the gear output shaft and the running surfaces of the radial shaft seals. An additional effect is the elegant, unique black and silver color of the gear.
