WDF1 Measuring transducer for FlexiForce force sensors

This product has been discontinued.

The WDF1 measuring transducer? is designed to work with piezo-resistive, FlexiForce type foil force sensors that are characterized by durability, flexibility and a thickness of 0.2 mm.

Application

Due to their specific properties, FlexiForce sensors have a comprehensive application, example applications, in which they can be used:

  • All kinds of tests and pressure measurements
  • Research and development of other technologies
  • Machine and equipment tests
  • Quality control of products, devices
  • Automotive industry
  • Robotics

Communication

The WDF1 device digitally converts the resistive signal by linearizing it. Thanks to this, it is possible to approximate the force acting on the sensor. WDF1 has a voltage output of 0.. 10 V and a transistor output that can be configured to be enabled at an appropriate threshold corresponding to the load on the sensor. WDF1 also has an RS485 interface working in the MODBUS communication standard, thanks to which it is possible to communicate several dozen sensors on one bus with a master device (eg PLC).

Module properties:

  • 15 - 28 VDC power supply
  • Current download <0.06 A
  • Input for a 4 k Ohm 10 M Ohm sensor
  • Linearisation and filtering of the sensor signal
  • Measurement of the accuracy of the force ~ 20%
  • Voltage output 0..10 V
  • OC type transistor output (open collector), you can configure to work in 3 modes
  • RS485 communication interface (MODBUS RTU)
  • Cooperation with the WDF1-PC program enabling reading of the measurement and configuration of the device
  • Small dimensions
