Fastest-in-class laser triangulation sensors: Micro-Epsilon introduces the improved optoNCDT 5500

WObit, the official distributor of Micro-Epsilon solutions in Poland, introduces an updated optoNCDT 5500 laser sensor. The device achieves a measurement frequency of 150 kHz over the entire operating range, which makes it the fastest triangulation sensor in its class.

Controlling dynamic industrial processes requires continuous data collection without limiting the measurement field. Unlike conventional market solutions that achieve maximum sampling speed only in a narrow range, optoNCDT 5500 maintains full 150 kHz performance over the entire operating band.

Key technical parameters and application possibilities

The design of the optoNCDT 5500 has been optimized for operation in difficult industrial conditions and in highly dynamic applications (quality control, automated stations and robotics):

• Repeatability: 8nm provides stable readings on surfaces with variable reflectivity.
• Immunity to external light: Dedicated optical filtration algorithms eliminate interference with an intensity of up to 20,000 lux.
• Measuring ranges: The offer has been extended to include a 50 mm variant. The current portfolio includes the following models: 10 mm, 25 mm, 50 mm, 100 mm and 200 mm.
