3D Inspect - Functional extension for surface inspection

3DInspect is easy-to-use software for all 3D sensors from Micro-Epsilon. Currently, version 3.0 of the software is available. By extending the surface control function, it is possible to detect deviations from a uniform surface. This means that 3DInspect software can be used for digital quality control. This is done in accordance with predefined criteria, which eliminates subjective influences and allows defects to be detected at an early stage.

Shape subtraction

Various shape subtraction functions are available. With the "Trend Removal" function, small defects such as dents, unevenness or structures can be quickly and reliably highlighted. The "Digital Stone" function, or digital smoothing, allows you to inspect production parts with high precision. Digital Stone simulates the grindstone used in car body production to ensure uniformity of the body surface. Digital Master teaching enables comparison of the target state with the actual state. One or more OK parts are combined into a master file. Then, the elements to be tested can be compared with the saved template file.

More innovations

Another useful function is the sorting and counting of protrusions and recesses. This is beneficial for automatic pin detection, for example, because pin lengths within a certain range can be evaluated as OK/NOK.
