Corporate social responsibility has long been present in the daily activities of WObit. This time we would like to summarize two actions in which our team was involved during most of the fall.
Responsible Fashion
The areas that WObit actively supports include supporting and inspiring the local community. One of our team members found out that the Polish Red Cross branch in Szamotuły supports care services for the sick, bedridden, elderly, and the poor, and just needed textiles for adults.
After verifying the current needs, we conducted a one-time collection of clothes, some of which were given to the needy at the local branch of the Polish Red Cross, while the rest was collected, sorted, and intended for sale by the Wtórpol company. The profits will be transferred to the statutory activities of the Greater Poland Regional Branch of the Polish Red Cross. During this project, we collected over 200 kg of clothing!
We combined the collection campaign with educational activities that are extremely important to us, under the slogan Responsible Fashion. As part of them, the WObit team gained knowledge about how to responsibly help and not impose our textile garbage on others. We found out where to return our clothes and what happens next with them.
An important topic was slow fashion and fast fashion, thanks to which we already know how our choices can influence the shaping of the market. We also deepened our knowledge about how clothes affect the environment, and what we can do to take better care of them. As part of the educational activities of the Responsible Fashion campaign, we have prepared, among others, Educational team leaflets with a pill of the most important information - see them in the photo gallery.
Books for the Rakiety Oncology Foundation
At the beginning of December, we also joined a book collection carried out by the Rakiety Oncology Foundation. Books, which WObit employees collected as many as 200 pieces, will go to people with oncological diseases who spend the Christmas and New Year period alone in hospital wards.
We are glad that thanks to the involvement of the entire WObit team, we were able to support the activities of the Polish Red Cross and the Oncology Foundation Rakiety, and in particular the target recipients of these activities. We strongly encourage you to do daily charity, let us not fall for the epidemic of indifference!
