Confocal chromatic sensors help to perform very demanding measuring tasks. They use the latest technology and measure distance and thickness with the highest precision. Due to the non-contact measurement principle, the sensors do not directly touch the structure of the measurement object, therefore parts of the measuring system do not wear mechanically.
Measurements on curved surfaces
The new confocalDT series marked IFS2407-3 has a numerical aperture (NA) of 0.43, allowing the measured object to be deviated by ± 30 ° without affecting the quality of the measurement. This means that the sensors are particularly suitable for measurements on curved and reflective surfaces. The sensors have a measuring range of 3 mm and a large offset of up to 28 mm, enabling safe removal of the optics. Due to their unique properties, they are suitable for geometric control tasks in coordinate measuring machines, ensuring stable, very precise measurement of objects such as gears and external threads.
Tight installation spaces in OEM applications
IFS2404 / 90 confocal sensor -2 measures distance, position and thickness in the 2 mm measuring range, while maintaining a resolution of 0.040 µm. Due to the special design, the sensor is suitable for installation in small installation spaces. The 90 ° angled lens reduces installation depth. The excellent price-performance ratio makes the sensor suitable for OEM applications in large series.
Custom sensor versions
The Micro-Epsilon confocal sensor series offers maximum dynamics and precision. In addition to the standard portfolio, the sensors can be adapted to various mounting options, modified designs and individual cable lengths. In combination with Micro-Epsilon controllers, measurement frequencies up to 70 kHz can be obtained.
