The 10th World Urban Forum (WUF) has started in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. It will last from 8 up to 13 February. It is the second largest conference after the World Climate Summit, organized under the leadership of the United Nations. UN-Habitat, the United Nations agenda on urbanization and urban settlements, hosts the event.
Poland is an active participant in the event, because in 2022 will be the organizer of the 11th WUF Edition in Katowice. Our country is represented by an official delegation consisting of, among others with the Minister of Funds and Regional Policy Małgorzata Jarosińska-Jedynak, deputy minister Grzegorz Puda and the president of Katowice Marcin Krupa.
An important element of the promotion of Poland and Katowice during WUF10 is the Polish pavilion, whose theme is the slogan " Katowice in the heart of changes”. An innovation room, a conference zone connected with a relaxation zone and a dining corner await visitors in the Polish zone.
Innovative devices designed by Polish companies are presented in the Innovation Room. Among them is MOBOT® AGV eRunner MW - mobile robot from WObit for automating internal transport. MOBOT moves around and around the stand autonomously using LMS laser navigation. It was chosen as one of eight innovative products to represent Poland's technological achievements. Other devices include an electronic stethoscope that uses artificial intelligence algorithms to control the respiratory system, as well as unmanned aerial platforms that can replace helicopters.
The World Urban Forum also has many meetings, conferences and workshops. An expert from WObit will take part in the panel on February 10 Smart city works the best with smart users. How to make the best out of future tech?
